I have left you in peace long enough so it is time for an update.
Note first off that, as promised, the word ‘campaign’ had been dropped from the subject line. Senseless is now 101% funded :) You can still pledge, as I said and it is not too late to become part of the project, get your names in the book when it is printed and get a copy hot off the press before it goes on sale to anyone else. Pledgers will be my first readers and my first critics.
It’s also kind of kudos to Senseless to have lots of pledges as the figures can be used later for publicity so if any of your friends think they missed the boat, do encourage them to pledge.
News also is that the Senseless Manuscript has been sent to a ‘very experienced editor’ called Gill. Her written report and suggestions for polishing are due around November 1st and then I will get my head down and tweak as much as possible to get it ‘perfect’ as per her wisdom.
Amazing to be on the way!
I am learning an awful lot about publishing and publicity from fellow Unbounders. Did you know, for example, that newspaper reviewers are loathe to consider reviewing a book unless it is printed as a hardback first? Even then, chances of getting reviewed that way are slim. Well, no hardbacks of Senseless so don’t expect to see it reviewed in the Telegraph.
