Scraps of Wool progress....and another book

Sunday, 22 January 2017

Scraps is being edited now. (No doubt the editor is grimacing at my errors as I write this). It will be distributed by Penguin Random House in partnership with Unbound as a Christmas book for 2017. The 'Supporters' edition will be a better bound, finer looking hardback that will not be available to the trade. This can still be bought on the Unbound site.

I am still receiving suggestions for the book. These are very valuable. Don't stop sending them; I can use them here or elsewhere.

Two Unbound projects from friends of mine:

Nick Danziger (Danziger's Travels and many others) and Rory Maclean (Berlin, Magic Bus, Stalin's Nose and many others) have joined forces to create an ambitious project : Another Life. They were commissioned (by World Vision) to follow 40 people and their families from deprived countries in Africa and Asia to examine whether UN Millennium pladges to these counties were having any effect. The result is a series of moving anecdotes and histories of the 21st Century.

Michelle Jana Chan is a travel writer and BBC TV travel journalist. She has been stand-in Editor of Conde Nast Traveller for much of 2016.

Her novel 'Song' has gathered a big following on Unbound and may be the fastest selling novel on Unbound (as it should be, I know, as I had the fun of reading it in manuscript late last year).

Many thanks Bill, much appreciated! It’s I think my tenth book (haven't made a proper count) – but it's definitely the second book with Unbound – 'Another Life' is definitely one of the most amazing projects I have had the opportunity to work on. It's the culmination of following the same individuals and families across 8 countries on 4 continents with a visit to each of them at least once every five years. Also many thanks for having pledged, Best wishes, Nick
