Earlier this year I was at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature chairing a whole slew of events. It was the fifth year of it and happily the fifth time that I'd been invited to attend, a welcome burst of sunshine and heat in February.
One of this years guests was Jeffrey Archer, a man about whom everyone seems to have an opinion, whether as an author or as an individual. It was a curious event, less an interview, more an exercise in cultism. The man is a force of nature and the huge crowd lapped it up, applauding as I mentioned how many books he's sold (over a quarter of a billion) and whopping at the fact he's been translated into 30 plus languages.
Anyway, after the stage event he and I had a chat which I recorded for my show The Bigger Picture on AudioGo and I thought some of you might like to have a listen.
So here it is, Jeffery and I... ta da!
