Fnord

Uncharacteristic activity ripples through our reptilian project.

Crump is toiling demented down the conspiracy mines, quarrying nuggets of pure QAnon to smelt into our theorems. (He's updating the pages in the game which form the private notebooks of our deranged rock lord, Dave Mansion)

Tom has almost finished hanging all Pete's art off the game engine and is now working on a surprise for those who complete the game.

And Pete, well you've got to feel sorry for Pete, because just when he thought he'd finished all the art, we turned round and asked him to make an illustration of the following scene..

'You stand in a dank, crammed study, somehow squalid and opulent at the same time, disordered and aristocratic, the purest secretion of Dave’s mind.

A single, dusty sunbeam twists in through a hole in rotting brocade. Walls of bare grey granite.

To your left, a tall red-leather swivel chair faces the wall. To your right is a long lab desk, a low, white flame burning on it beneath a bulbous glass flask, vapor gathering in its neck.

Pale wooden shelves rise floor-to ceiling behind the long lab desk, stacked with stone crucibles and pestles, with glass vials and flasks and funnels, all shining orange in the sombre, guttering light.

To the side of the chaotic shelves, intricate hand-drawn charts and diagrams are plastered to the wall in an eloquent palimpsest of dark obsession.'

Looking forward to that illustration coming in.

The full beta of the game (without sound) will be ready September / October. Then we'll get some feedback from our beta tasters, make some changes, add the sound, and finally we'll be ready to go public.

Thank you for your patience is a great phrase I find to get out of being late, so.... to thank you for your patience, here is Pete's art for Fnord, the ficitonal debut album of our fictional band, The Eschatones. Hope you like it. The track listing may provide a clue or two to crack the puzzles inside the game....

Thanks

Craig
