A Wild and Precious Mentoring Programme
Just a quick note to tell you that we've chosen our lucky four mentees and have begun work with them. We had a good number of applicants from our existing community of recovery writers, and it was very difficult to choose. But, in the end, we chose those writers we felt would most benefit from the scheme. Those were Deborah Martin, who wants to work on a collection of short stories, Astra Bloom, who is plunging into writing memoir, Vicky Creyton, who is one of our original students from when I set up the creative writing class at St Mungo's, who is working on a collection of vignettes which reflect the state of inebriation, and lastly Annie Vincent, who has a brilliant idea and needs some help pulling it all together. We, at Wild and Precious Life, are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with these interesting writers.
By the way, we're 89% funded, which is so very exciting. We're still working towards the end of November deadline. You have all been so generous and we couldn't have done it without you.
Bye! Lily and Zoe
