My new podcast on Shakespeare

I really enjoyed this podcast with one of our finest theatre dirfectors, Jake Mujrray. It was extra special because Jake was a brilliant undergraduate I taught at Oxford, nearly 40 years ago!

Do please share with anyone who wants to listen to why I love of Shakespeare.

The seventh #ShakespearePodcast is the brilliant Dr Pauline Frederica Kiernan, playwright, Shakespeare expert and author of a number of excellent books on the #Bard. She also happens to be my old University tutor, whose support and encouragement then and now has been so valuable to me.

Here Pauline addresses the many accusations levelled against Shakespeare now - misogynist, racist, anti-Semite, warmonger - and takes them apart skilfully. She also deals with Shakespeare’s stagecraft, his characters battle to answer the question ‘who am I?’ and the complex, embodied, moral world they inhabit.
