Cover Shoot
Ahhhhhh we spent yesterday shooting the cover (hopefully) for Playing To Lose. We (Hywel, my lovely photographer husband) and I had a long discussion with the Unbound art director beforehand so we thought we probably knew what we needed to shoot, but it was still a bit nerve-wracking cos we want it to be right. I'd bought some outfits especially, and we also shot some clothes the art director had seen and liked already. We tried lots of different bondage (cos it would be *amazing* if we were allowed bondage on the cover) and the pictures are beautiful. Now we're waiting to find out which shots (if any) will be chosen for the cover. OMG!

Shooting for a book cover image is very different from other shoots. You need to think of the space for the type. where will it go,how will it work, will it read? Am i going to cut the figure out.... This is a art form of its own. Believe me i have years of experience on this and it is very hard.

Nice that you got to do what you wanted. Let’s hope the cover reflects it. In my experience the publishers were very accommodating with the pictures and design ideas I had for my book and I was thrilled with the result. I’m sure you (and we) will love yours.

I quite liked the original book cover, but I am happy for you and Hywel to do a proper cover shoot. Who made up the original/sample cover?
