Every author wants to be read as widely as possible. I was thrilled with the beauty of the first edition hardback of The Book of Bera, Sea Paths, and hope it becomes a collector's item in the future. However, I was well aware that few people bought the trade hardback - and even fewer read the one they had. So when I sold out of paperbacks at the launch and was pressed to get the sequel, Obsidian, out as quickly as possible it was a wonderful moment: readers wanted more! I also like the chubby heft of the paperback and hope you will, too. In time, we plan to make the three books somehow linked across the spines (suggestions, please) to make a stunning box set for the trilogy. I can't wait! And my joy was complete when I found Bera in amazing company at Waterstones, and Ursula le Guin is an especial hero.
