I'll keep this quick - just to say NTC is a little past halfway mark of editorial.
The first bit was the structural edit: all big stuff like character/plot/theme/style/etc. This was basically painless and my editor called the novel "singular and original": for a first timer I have to be happy with that.
I'm now in copy ed: this is about continuity of time-frame, garb, stuff like this. The copy-ed (different personage to structural-ed) sent NTC back with next to nothing to do, so it is now returned. He compared the novel/my writing to Martin Amis/Anthony Burgess/DBC Pierre: again, this is pretty brill.
The next stage, post-copy, is proofing the book - for grammar, literals, spelling, etc - and then post- this publication moves very close. I am told June may be a realistic date.
Also, the cover design process is occurrring concurrent with Unbound's in-house designer: I'm told he is one of the best in the biz, so let's see.
Again: MASSIVE THANKS FOR ALLOWING MY DREAM TO COME TRUE.
I guarantee: you won't be disappointed.
