'Spine-tingling mystery novel...'
A friend asked me recently what I understood by the supernatural, and I promised to explain when next in the writer’s shed. But wait! Breaking news intervenes….
This week my local paper – the wonderful Hexham Courant – has a very welcome article publicising Mister Woodreeve’s Reflection. I was a little taken aback by the headline: ‘Robert enters a brave new world with his debut spine-tingling mystery novel’. What if people read it and their spines don’t tingle? Never mind – 500 words of free publicity, both accurate and positive. Thank you, Helen Compson!
The ‘brave new world’ is crowdfunding with Unbound, so it’s good publicity for them as well as for the novel. The Courant is read throughout Northumberland and beyond, and half my supporters so far have been local. My friends have got the crowdfunding off to a super start, but it’s great to be able to reach out to people I don’t know.
So thanks again to my kind supporters, a magical 42 of you now. We’re reaching back in time, with the brightest student I taught in school – and going international, with Lindsay in France and Barbara in Canada. We’re more than one-sixth of the way there – hopefully this global reach will continue, especially if you tell all your friends….
