Bit dusty in here...
It's been some time since I've wandered back into the shed. Apologies for the absence. Summer has been such that pauses for reflection have been brief and quickly scribbled in notebooks rather than shared widely. One exception being a bit of a personal post at my similarly-neglected blog in which I talk about not being chatty in hospital waiting rooms. It received a lovely response, and while I can't quite bring myself to copy and paste it en masse here, I do encourage you to go have a read.
Try as I might, I've not been able to carve the time to get back up to St Andrews this summer. I watched The Open somewhat irked that tens of thousands of golf fanatics were trampling its cobbled streets whilst I was not.
Regardless, I've had my fair share of nostalgia. A visit to my home town, Boston, to see friends and family and attend a wedding brought much of the past rushing back. We drank beer and ate lobster and swam in the sea. We stayed up late swatting mosquitos and laughing so hard our faces and stomachs were sore in the morning. Building new beautiful memories to layer upon the old.
I've a series of updates planned in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned. There will be photos and extracts and who knows what else. I certainly don't. I'm kind of making it up as I go. In the meantime, spread the word - still 72% left to go before it actually happens.
