From the depths of the forest...
Happy New Year! I hope you are all keeping warm and well. In these darker months I'm delighted to be able to share an illustration from one of the darker tales of Lost & Found rising from the blocks. Little Sparrow is sent into the forest by her wicked Stepmother to fetch a needle and thread from the Stepmother's sister. And this is where the path leads her...
Every child in the village had heard the tales, whispered by fireside through the nights of the long dark winters. Tales of enchantments and entrapment, boiling and bone-grinding. And here was the terrible truth of them, standing before her. The moment she looked upon the place she knew it. This was the home of the wild witch of the woods – Baba Yaga.

Thanks Derek - yes, it's just great to be able to get to peek behind the scenes in Phoebe's studio. I'm so enjoying seeing her 'translations' of the tales come to life. I will have more to share very soon...
