Thanks so much for all your pledges. I've been spending lockdown reading fascinating contemporary accounts from Paris in the 1870s, ready to 'colour in' my final draft for your delectation. Some pledgers' names will even be appearing on fictional cafe shutters on Boulevard Haussmann!
