Update - a secret revealed!
An update from author Daniel Konstanski:
I have uncovered more secrets about the brick than I can even remember at this point. The book is quickly filling up to overflowing, which leaves a few secrets I can reveal ahead of time! I recently got to share a couple of exclusive ones with select LEGO® fan media sites so be on the lookout for those, but I also have one to share here.
Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, the LEGO Group’s third generation family owner and CEO, grew up on a diet of bricks and sets anyone else could only dream of. Early on, cars emerged as some of his favourite subject matter. He was so prolific that, eventually, one of his models was turned into an official product.
For the 1968 range when Kjeld was 21 years old, a small, white vehicle demarcated as set 330 was released. It was one of Kjeld’s designs. To this day, it remains the only LEGO toy that he ever designed. Years later, when one of the LEGO Group’s senior designers learned about this model, he asked permission to create a modern rendition of both it and several other of Kjeld’s cars. That story led to a very funny exchange, but to get that part of the story you will have to read the full book!
The modern remake of Kjeld’s vehicle design. It used as many original parts as possible but a few were no longer in production.
The Secret Life of LEGO® Bricks will no longer be on sale after midnight BST on 31st May 2021 so pre-order your copy now HERE.

LEGO® prototype element and minifigure
Only 500 available. The LEGO Group is offering for the first time ever, a brand-new, specially 3D printed prototype element on which you can give your personal feedback. It comes with its own AFOL-themed minifigure.
Printed in Billund, Denmark, the element is yet to be finalized so it will be a surprise when you receive it, but we can tell you that this isn't something you will have seen before. The element will present a new integrated function as a part of our exploration of new design and play functions. It is the first time the LEGO Group is asking AFOLs and fans to give their thoughts on a specific element while the technology is being developed.

I just found out that there's no ebook included if you buy the physical book. Please reconsider that decision.

“exclusive […] with select LEGO® fan media sites”
Exclusivity with “select” fan sites has been a big bummer about this project since the start.
From advanced grabs on premium backer perks to secrets shared neither here nor in the book, this exclusivity has been a major detractor to backing your book.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Each update reminds me of my lack of enthusiasm about, and regret for, backing this project.

I would like to back Mischa Boender's commnet:
"there's no ebook included if you buy the physical book. Please reconsider that decision."

I always loved the fact that there is a model designed by Kjeld (and it's a car, of course!)
Can't wait to read the story.

Couldn't you set a stretch goal where if met, all physical book orders will also get the ebook version?

I would buy a physical book if it came with a color eBook. The eBook being B&W is quite frustrating to me.

Is it just me or there has not been any update since 28 May 2021?

You're right. It's been very quiet here since then.
I hope the author is busy and on schedule.
An update would still be nice.
