One small guy, one big dream, one mega-mission

‘LARD WANTS WORLD PEACE!’ is a unique project about a small grey man with a mission to create world peace, one comic strip at a time.

In 2010, Bafta-winning writer Keith Tutt met super-talented illustrator Daniel Saunders. After much talk and many spicy lunches, they committed to creating daily comic strips featuring Daniel’s character Lard and his mission to create world peace….….

Some 1000 comic strips later, all published on six online platforms and syndicated alongside Peanuts, Doonesbury and Garfield on, we're ready to launch our first book on Unbound. This special hardback is a unique collection of some of our absolute favourite and classic LARD WANTS WORLD PEACE! comic strips from our first five years.

This inspiring work is an opportunity to get the inside story on how Lard’s mega-mission has evolved from simple ‘World Peace Tips’ , through some challenging storylines with his friends and enemies (including John Paul Sartre, Flaming Phil, Alice and Little Joe), to some literally incredible but inspiring meetings with famous people both living and dead.

If you support this book you’ll discover how Lard’s daily comic strips have been inspiring thousands of supporters in over 120 countries to perform acts of kindness, accumulate life-transforming wisdom or just have a good laugh. In a time of global uncertainty, Lard’s eccentric alternatives might just work!

We’d love to have your support to create our first book. We’ve got special editions, some great personalised artwork and a chance to meet the ‘LARD WANTS WORLD PEACE!’ creative duo if you decide to upgrade to our LUNCH EDITION or to experience one of our PROFESSIONAL WORKSHOPS.

Whatever level you choose it will be great to have your support. And as well as your pledge reward you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re contributing, in a small but important way, to world peace!
