It behoves me - or indeed behooves me - to keep y'all posted on developments. At the moment the manuscript is with Unbound. They are thumbing through, I daresay umming and ahhing, and making notes as to what is libelous, unjust, improbable or downright wrong. I, in the meantime, have been in Heidelberg marrying off a son to a wonderful woman from Luxemburg, attending to another son's final schooldays (inc exams which include questions about the soundness of Herodotus's approach to history and whether Pausanius really was such a vain, overbearing chap as most think), and ferrying yet another son to music making sessions in Crouch End. This is not to mention all the other STUFF that seems to fill up the days. I have usefully written a review of a pamphlet of poetry by Wendy Pratt called 'Lapstrake'. It is terrific (Lapstrake, not my review), so please, if you are at all interested in poetry go here: http://www.flarestackpoets.co.uk/ and order it.
To poets - and even the best only sell in hundreds - every copy sold is important. Oh yes, and speaking of which, I have been preparing a collection of my own poems, which I think will be available in September. It is to be called 'Private Places' and will be pubished by Indigo Dreams. You may all look forward to being pressed to buy THAT too. Bet you can't wait. Kicking the Bar will be published in May next year on the centenary of Dad's birth.
