Three weeks to go!

(Bacchus by Simeon Solomon)

Happy New Year!

If you've pledged for a copy of In Exile, your copy should be arriving soon, before the official launch date of 24 January. Keep your eyes peeled for an email from Unbound asking you to confirm/change your address.

I'm hoping to have news about the book launch in Rome soon, but things happen slowly here...In the meantime:

  • Here's my official Facebook page. Please follow for updates! One of these days I'll have a website like a Real Author...
  • Advance copies of In Exile can be requested on NetGalley. If you have any friends who use the website, please pass on the link.
  • If you have a Goodreads account, please add In Exile to your "to read" list here. It helps with ranking and visibility - people are more likely to discover the book, and more likely to want to read it if they see that other people want to read it!

And finally, here are some nice things that nice people have been saying about the book:

“As seductive and heady as a good wine, In Exile recalls The Secret History if it were written by Julie Maroh. It’s a dark, intoxicating treat which conjures a Rome that is both familiar and dangerous.” - Dr Emma Southon, author of Agrippina

“Lyrical as a fairy tale, dark as a blood sacrifice, In Exile is The Bacchae by way of Walter de la Mare. Turney’s delicately told novel evokes the best of the genre – but imbues it with something indelibly new.“ - Tara Isabella Burton, author of Social Creature

"Turney deals with the absolutely riveting question "What would happen if Dionysus were re-born in a 20th century Rome where no one believed in him?" in a Tartt-esque novel that is well-written, fast-paced and engrossing; a read ideal to start the new year off." - NetGalley reviewer
