reaching across the divides
Hello Team Hardly Normal, just wanted to send you a thank you, good wishes, and a little update on where we are with the book. We are already at 58% funded, so that is A Very Good Thing, and that is quite literally thanks to you, our initial supporters. The early stages of fundraising are about reaching out to people we know, people we know will be interested, and people who know us well enough to trust that we will deliver! So, again, thank you.
We have taken a step back from crowdfunding for the past few weeks, partly due to work pressure for Mark and I, and partly because we recognise that this is a time of year when people have other prioroties.
If things go to plan, we will be fully funded in the first couple of months of 2020, and will then be able to give you an update on publication timing.
I will be staying with friends in London for Christmas, and since arriving here it is clear that there is an increase in the number of people who are without a home and living on the streets. It's also a time of ongoing political divisions in many countries. All fo this makes me feel that the message of our book, Being Hardly Normal, is very timely. I don't just mean the current and growing crisis of housing and homelessness, but the increasing need for all of us to reach across divides to contact with people who we may regard as 'other' than ourselves. That's the impetus that drives me on, and I thank you deeply for your faith in our project.
WIth all good wishes for both now and the year ahead.
