Happy Family

By James Ellis

Sometimes, for one’s own sanity, it’s best to rip up an entire life and start again. The question is: whose life? And who does the ripping?

A watched kettle...

Dear supporters and patrons of An Other’s Look. We are now a third of the way through the crowdfunding period, with 60 days to go to the deadline of May 23rd. Thank you very much for getting the project this far. But having reached 25% I know that around this time the dreaded first ‘plateau’ puts in an appearance.

To help get over this I’m broadening my campaign to include contacting bookshops, writing groups, writing organisations, even local shops, and asking them to pitch in and help support the project. I’m also very excited to be talking about the novel on Frome FM (96.6) at the end of April.

So, if you happen to know of any author-friendly bloggers or institutions that I could approach, I’d be very interested to hear. Also, if you get an opportunity to retweet or share the link to An Other’s Look page, or generally spread the word, that too would be great.

An Unbounder said to me that hitting a plateau is a bit like watching a kettle and waiting for it to boil, nothing seems to change until you look away. I absolutely agree and I'd never do that...
