Some happy news after the US election result, as well as a huge vote of thanks: today I reached 50% of my crowd-funding target for 'A Restored Earth'!
Thank you so much for all your generosity and all your support. I am immensely grateful.
I am very much enjoying writing the book.
In the next month, I have interviews lined up with Achim Steiner, until recently Director of the UN's Environment Programme, and now head of the Oxford Martin School, and a great leader and thinker on all things sustainable development; Tristram Stuart, the intrepid and gutsy food waste campaigner; Professor Kathy Willis, Director of Science at The Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew, and one of the world's experts on plants and biodiversity; Sir Gordon Conway, at Imperial, who has a lifetime's experience working on sustainable agriculture in Africa and around the world; and Tony Juniper, one of Britain's best-known environmentalists, as well as a wonderful writer, friend and mentor.
All of these perspectives, as long with those of many others, will find their way into the book.
In parallel, though, I still need to meet my crowd-funding target, and so any further help you can give in enabling me to meet my target would be immensely gratefully received!
Please do share news of the project with your family and friends, as well as with any companies or individual philanthropists who you think might help see me over the finishing line.
I am also happy to approach people directly, and so please send me any suggestions by email.
A further flurry before December would make all the difference…
With very best wishes, and renewed and heartfelt thanks for all your help to date,
