Tweaking, checking and polishing

Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know what's been going on in the month since we hit 100%.

Vacant Lot, the sitcom Larry Stephens wrote for Tony Hancock, had a couple of sell-out performances at the end of September, at Stourbridge Town Hall and at the British Library. I was at the British Library event and took part in a Q&A session with members of the cast and crew afterwards. It was a really enjoyable evening which I hope will repeated at some point in the near future.

As for Glarnies, Green Berets & Goons, I've finished tweaking, checking and polishing the manuscript and have been making sure I have all the permissions I need to quote from various books and documents. I'm just waiting for a couple of these to come back and then the manuscript will go off for editing.

There's still time for people to pledge and get their name into the book as a supporter so if you know anyone who was talking about it but hasn't got round to it yet, please remind them before it's too late!

I was very sad to hear of the recent deaths of Denis Norden and Ray Galton. I spoke to both of them about Larry while I was researching the book and they were extremely helpful to me. May they rest in peace.

Julie x
