Remembering and focusing
Friday, 16 November 2018
Hi everyone,
I didn't want you thinking I'd forgotten about you so this is just a quick update to say, "hello" and to let you know that I submitted my manuscript to Unbound a couple of weeks ago. The manuscript will now be edited, copy edited and proofread while I focus on looking through photos and selecting the ones I'd like to include in Glarnies, Green Berets & Goons (great fun!).

I often spend Remembrance Weekend in Fort William with the Commando Veterans Association but unfortunately, I was unable to make the journey to Scotland this year. Larry Stephens' ashes were scattered at the Commando Memorial, about 10 miles away from Fort William, in 1959 and a plaque was placed in the adjacent Memorial Garden for him in 2013.
The monument was unveiled by the Queen Mother in 1952 and is well worth a visit if ever you find yourself in the Highlands.

Thanks for the update Julie.
You were missed in Fort William & at The Commando Monument this year - many people asked after you (not least the breakfast chef at Wetherspoons).
The plaque in commemoration of Larry was cleaned and given a quick wipe with oil and the bolts were given a rust treatment...
