Can you help me to solve some mysteries?

While I was researching Larry Stephens' life, I came across a few things I was unable to identify. Can you put me out of my misery by providing further information about any of them please? If you click on the pictures, you'll be able to see larger versions.

1. Who is DT?

This is a photo of Larry playing the piano as a member of Dennis R Hinton & His Band but who is the trumpet-playing DT who's pictured with him? He would probably have been from the Handsworth area.

2. Where is this?

This podium must have been erected for the Queen's Coronation in 1953. I suspect it is/was on Primrose Hill but can you confirm?

3. What language is this?

Is it Japanese? Chinese? Something else?

4. Name that tune!

At the top of the page is an extract from a recording of Larry playing the piano (click 'P' to play) but what is he playing? It sounds familiar but I don't know if it's a well-known tune or something he composed himself. Apologies for the poor quality.

Have a wonderful weekend!
