Sex in a Museum.

A quick notice for you...

On the weekend of 8th/9th September, I'll be giving a talk about The Gin Lane Gazette, sex, scandal, and the world of Georgian newspapers at the Cowper & Newton Museum in the charming market town of Olney in Buckinghamshire. Also speaking will be Lisa Gee, author of forthcoming Unbound tome HayleyWorld. The museum is dedicated to the life of 18th-century poet, William Cowper, who lived at the premises, and kept hares in the parlour. Lisa's book is about one of Cowper's best mates, William Hayley, so the setting couldn't be better. There's a lovely garden on site, and a fabulous little display about the slave trade. You can also follow the museum on Twitter: @CowpNewtMuseum

We'll keep you updated on details, but for now I should be obliged if you would make a note of the date in your diary, consider honouring us with your presence, and spread the word.
