One Goes Mad In East Anglia
Thank you to everyone who ventured out at quite short notice to attend Unbound Live 3 at Le Baron, Embassy Mayfair, on Tuesday evening. I hope you enjoyed yourselves, and if you missed it, there will be more of these events in the not-annoyingly-distant future. Unbound Live is essentially elections hustings for authors, where we pitch our ideas at a slightly bewildered audience from behind a microphone. Tuesday's line-up included, inter alia, Robert Llewellyn, Katy Brand, Steve Colgan, and myself. I had to scarper quite early due to public transport issues, but I'm told the evening declined into debauchery in Little Italy, with Dancing of the Dirty variety.
Talking of events, I am speaking about The Gin Lane Gazette at the University of East Anglia (Norwich), on 28th May, at the kind invitation of the brilliant academic Sarah Churchwell. Proceedings kick off at 4pm, in the Thomas Paine Study Centre, Room 0.1, and there will be WINE and SNACKS. Spread the word, and do come along if you can. I might even let you ask penetrating, intelligent questions at the end.
