Gin (& Tonic) Lane.
If any of you ladies are in Oxfordshire at around 3pm on Tuesday (7th Feb.) –
I'm giving a short spiel about The Gin Lane Gazette at a ladies' coffee afternoon. The venue is the utterly beguiling Falkland Arms, at Great Tew, near Chipping Norton (@falklandarms on Twitter). I can promise you a reasonable helping of Georgian oddities, debauchery, and randy sex talk, and if you don't like coffee there are, of course, abundant wines, beers and spirits. You won't get THAT at a parish council meeting. Do come.

It was a splendid afternoon Ade. You should do more. And I think the Falkland Arms should open a wager book forthwith.

Bless you, Mitchinson. I think I must do more. Anyway, 500 guineas on a pigs versus sheep race to Oxford Covered Market...?

A wager book shall be put in place behind the bar, and i would like to place 10 guineas on the sheep to win the race by a length.
