A publication date, a deadline - and the cover!
It's been a little while since the last update but fear not, in the meantime the book has been quietly winding its way towards completion and is very nearly there now - the rewrites, tweaks and copy-edits are all now complete and the book will very soon be sent off for typesetting, which is one of the final stages.
I'm pleased to say that the book also now has an official publication date: Thursday 28th May 2020, not long before the Euro 2020 tournament begins. I'm told that hopefully, all being well, everyone who supported the book at this early stage should get their hands on their copy some time earlier than that - I'm not sure at this point when precisely that will be but as soon as I know, I'll let you all know.
The supporters list on Unbound will be closing very soon (Sunday 8th December) so that will be the final chance for anyone to get their name in the back of each edition as a supporter of the project - obviously if you're receiving this update in your inbox then that already applies to you, so don't worry, but if you happen to know of anyone who hasn't pre-ordered yet but had intended to, or if you think it might make a nice gift for someone else to receive a copy with their name listed in the back, especially now that the publication date is official, this is the last call! Of course, after that date the book will still be available and is already beginning to appear for pre-order on places like Waterstones and Amazon (though those listings will be beefed up with more details soon, they're very bare-bones at the moment), this 8th December deadline is just the cut-off for people to get a name in the back.
Finally, and very excitingly, I can give you all an exclusive look at the cover design for the book! I'm really delighted with the result and hope you'll like it too. The whole thing now feels terrifyingly real all of a sudden...
All the best and, as always, I'm indebted to you for supporting this book, I really am beyond grateful.
