Well! I wasn't even remotely prepared to get to this stage yet but after a sudden surge I am beyond thrilled to tell you that Galactic Keegan: The Novel is now fully funded and will be published! Thank-you all so, so much for believing in this project these past six or seven weeks and for playing a part in bringing this book into existence. It genuinely would not have been possible without each and every one of you and I really cannot wait for you to get your hands on your copy when the book is ready.
Do bear in mind that until the book goes to print, people can still pre-order a copy by pledging on the Unbound website and will still get their name in the back as a supporter - and there may potentially be some new reward levels added soon (to which you can of course upgrade if any of them caught your eye). So if you happen to speak to anyone who's interested in the book or if you think someone might appreciate it as a gift then it'll still be there to pre-order before it makes its way out into the world.
As for what happens next - the novel is already written, which is a big bonus, as sometimes when projects reach this stage the author has to then lock themselves away for a while to write the book in question. I'll be assigned an editor who will go through the book and will no doubt suggest rewrites and changes all with the goal of getting the story into the very best possible shape by the time it gets to you. After that there'll be design, production, distribution and lots of other stuff to consider but my personal hope is that the book will be ready to go at some time later this year. I will do my best to keep you all updated each step of the way so that you know what's going on - it's all uncharted territory for me too.
Finally (and hopefully this attached image will work) I found this last time I was back home visiting my mum and dad. I was ten years old when I got this and if I could go back in time to tell that young lad that twenty-five years later a book he'd written was going to be published, he'd have been over the moon. (Though he'd probably also have been bitterly disappointed to see that the huge growth spurt he was desperately hoping for was sadly not going to happen...)
Thank-you all again for making this dream a reality - I'm still pinching myself that any of this is actually happening.
All the best,
