Fukushima Dreams in the wild
Spring is here, and finally Fukushima Dreams is out in the wild. I thought you might appreciate a little update on how the book is doing...well, the quick answer is that I don't exactly know. In about 5 months I'll get a profit and loss statement from Unbound and that will be the first concrete information about how the book is doing in the market.
Meanwhile, my job is to spread the book as far and wide as possible. I'll be doing readings at Brixton Library and She Growls and the Brighton Fringe in May, and the Curious Arts Festival in June. I've written a review of the very brilliant Ghosts of the Tsunami for Asian Affairs magazine, and the book will be reviewed in the Japan Society newsletter and on Japan Today. I've contacted a LOT of bookshops, and some of them have agreed to stock it. Daunts of Marylebone actually sold out! Lambeth Libraries have agreed to order copies in.
So, as you can see, I've been working very hard to let people know the book exists. What would be absolutely WONDERFUL is if you can help me. It might be as simple as telling a friend you think would like to read it, or leaving a review on Amazon (apparenty magic happens when I get to 50). Everything helps :)
Finally, I've been really blown away by people's reactions to the book - so thank you so much for helping it get this far.
