I’ve been a little lax on my Shed updates… but as a starter I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s made a pledge.
Most recently I’ve had a very generous Patron pledge from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation (www.gbsf.org.uk) which has boosted Falling from the Floating World to 30% of its target - which isn’t bad after just under a month’s crowdfunding.
The foundation aims to develop good relations between the UK and Japan and one of the ways they seek to do this is through art and culture. Fortunately for me they felt my book will help.
I've also been lucky enough to get a whole host of other pledges from ebooks to special offers and even two further patron pledges (from kind individuals I won’t embarrass).
It’s not easy to write a book and it’s even harder to get it published. But every contribution, from small to large, makes what can be a lonely process feel like a team effort, and every one of your pledges has put a spring in my step.
So thank you - I hope you’ll feel it’s money well spent when you read the book next year!
Wishing you a very merry Christmas (or any other celebration) and a wonderful New Year.
