And we're done! Thank you!
Monday, 7 January 2019
That's it, we're done. No more funding and the shutters have gone up (actually, at the time of writing the 'Pledge' button is still live, but I suspect that someone, somewhere has to tap some other buttons to make that button go away... stop me if I'm getting too technical).
We're 113% funded, with 270 amazing, beautiful and, frankly, sexy backers like your good self. To you I say thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you with a big cherry on top. I simply could not have done this without you. And the fact that we're over-funded means I can beg Unbound to add some nice finishes to the book, so anyone who ordered the paperback will get a really beautiful-looking book.
What's next? I need to sign-off on the cover and the final, final, final proof pages, and Unbound needs to compile the first print run based on orders from retailers etc. My focus from now on will be on a launch event here in Kent (and maybe one in Surrey for my friends and family there), and getting word out to the big, bad world. I've sent press releases and proofs to genre magazines and bloggers, and I'm booked for a number of festivals and comic cons throughout the year.
Do please sign-up to my blog and newsletter to keep up to speed on how the book does this year (and if you sign-up to the newsletter you get a cool short story prequel to the novel called How Drust Krax Lost Two Of His Fingers).
Unbound will also start working on fulfilling pledge promises. I owe a few of you DVDs and signed books, and this morning I start reading one of two novels that will get feedback from me along with a Skype chat.
If you have any queries about where your book is or any delivery issues, Unbound have an excellent help page here, or their email address is email@example.com. Alternatively, you can call them on 020 7253 4230 or tweet them @unbounders
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who has supported this book. It's been an amazing experience that started almost a year ago and now we're just a month from this thing being in the shops. When that happens I'll start begging you to spread the word and maybe leave some nice reviews on the online retailers... but until then take a moment to reflect on how bloody awesome you are for helping make this happen. Yeah, you!
