East of England Update 1: getting going - 29 January
Sunday, 28 January 2018
Ths is the first of a series of project updates I'll be posting online about my Lincolnshire-set noir-ish thriller novel East of England, which is crowdfunding now via Unbound. As the project has only been live a week, there's not a whole lot to report on, so this is just to first say a huge and heartfelt thanks to those who've pre-ordered the book by pledging towards its crowdfunding costs, and second, to say that there's no time like the present for the rest of you to jump on board!
What I'll be doing is putting out an update weekly - in all probability being posted out on Monday mornings - and I'll alternate between public posts (like this one) and ones that are exclusive to those who have supported the book (and me) to date by making a pledge to the project.
So, my question to you is: What kind of stuff so you want to know about? I've made myself a list of topics to cover, but if you have any suggestions of your own, then please send them in, and I'll do my best to give an answer. There's a Q and A facility on the East of England page on the Unbound website. which is a fine place to put your questions/observations and so on. I'll use your ideas as the basis for public posts, and I'll keep details about behind the scenes stuff related to East of England specifically for project subscribers.
Apparently, I can add video, images, and audio to these posts too, so I'll start experimenting with that as the weeks go by. The short video accompanying the page was very much a first attempt at this sort of thing. I wanted to avoid a straightforward author address to the audience sort of thing, but I'm happy to play about with the technology and see what I can muster, even if it's only me burbling into a webcam or camera phone about writing or genre in some way or form.
Thanks very much again to those who have already pledged support. You'll be forever immortalised in the book!
