I've put a red line under the crowdfunding for East Of England, to ensure that the book is funded sooner rather than later. My deadline's 4th July which is - at the time of writing - 25 days away. So, there's plenty of time for folk to get on board, but the end's in sight. Even once 100% funding is achieved, there'll be some time for folk to get involved, as there's an inevitable delay between the funding total being achieved and the book actually going to print.
What'll happen behind the scenes is editing and polishing of the manuscript, cover design, typesetting, proofreading and error correction and suchlike. You'll all get emails at each stage of the way telling you where the process is up to. As soon as I have a confirmed publication date I'll let you all know. Then you fine folk who've backed the book get special editions with your name in as thanks, and the novel will be available in shops and online too.
I'd love to write another book with Dan Matlock - the central character of East of England - at its heart, but that'll very much depend on whether folk like this one, and if there's demand for that book from further afield. I have, though, got the broad strokes of the plot sorted out for that book, so it's just a case of waiting and seeing. In the meantime, though, I've started the first draft of another book, also et in Lincolnshire, but with something of a whiff of SF/horror about it. It'll be back to the noir straight after that though.
In the meantime, thanks for your patience and support thus far!
