As of Sunday lunchtime (a very pleasant ham, cheese and mustard sandwich, since you ask) on Father's Day, East of England is 87% funded, so there's less than £500 to raise to hit its funding target. The book's on course to achieve this by 4th July, which is all good, though if it gets there sooner, even better!
This means that with a fortnight or so until the funding bit is initially over (folk will still be able to preorder once 100% is reached, as there's an inevitable time lag between funding and printing), I'm deep into second drafting of the book. For those three of you who are to be named - or have asked for a character to be named after a loved one - in the book, then I'll be asking questions of you in the next few days so I can pick the best point for your cameo appearance, and maybe chuck in an easter egg or two in terms of physical description, criminal traits etc... There is one of these character pledges left, so if anyone wants to upgrade their current support to that level, do so swiftly, and I'll make you infamous. Well, your name at least.
I'll be rattling the collection tin as hard as I can over the next two weeks or so to get the book funded completely, and I'd like to ask for your help. In fact, stuff it. I am asking for your help. Please help! Tell your friends, point them in the direction of the book on social media, make one of those lovely hand-painted bedsheet signs and hang it over a nearby bridge; it all helps. Everyone who's helped fund the book's production gets their (or their nominated name) in the book as thanks, plus they get to be a patron of the arts. Oh, and the book, of course.

As ever, thanks very much for taking a punt on a book that doesn't quite exist yet. Especially YOU.
