Where we are at.
Just a quick update to let you know the progress that has been made with turning all of your lovely pledges of support into a magnificent book. Things have been happening aplenty over the past two months; firstly I submitted my manuscript to Unbound and it was passed on to the very fantastic Sue Lascelles who has been given the task of being my editor.
Sue read through (and apparently loved) the manuscript using her keen editorial eye and made a few suggestions to me of how to tweak it here and there to make it even more brilliant, and over the Christmas period I have been making those changes.
Nothing major has changed in the story at all, just a couple of name changes of minor characters and some clarity with regards the timeline of the narrative. All this has meant that Domini Mortum has gone from a 115,000 word behemoth to a finely tuned 96,000 word rattling adventure yarn which I am so very proud of (and often cannot believe that I actually wrote).
We will now be moving onto the design phase, where all the exciting things like cover art and making it look beautiful take place, and hopefully if all goes to plan we should be looking at the finished product coming out around April time.
I just want to take this opportunity to once again thank you for all of your help and support during this campaign. Trust me it will all be worth it in the end when you finally get to read the finished novel.
Remember too that it is still not too late to pledge your support and get your name in the book in the list of supporters. If you know of anyone that you think would like to see their name immortalised in a cracking Victorian murder mystery then just point them in the direction of my Unbound page.
I'll be sending out more updates as the process nears its completion - watch this space.
