Long time, no see, everybody!
Deepest apologies for being gone so long. Returning to the Outside World has many perks I'm rediscovering (family, new and old friends, and just being outdoors per se), but one drawback is less time for writing and promo work, all the more so with PhD work and a new job in the mix. I'm less irritated with this than I would normally be, however, given some recent realizations about my writing habits and life in general (check out my latest Wordpress post for the full story) that've started me on several new approaches to both. As such, for the near future I'll be cutting back on the tempo of my most recent projects, focusing on finally pushing at least one over the final draft finish line (and into publication, hopefully before Thanksgiving or even Halloween), and trying yet more new promo methods to get the word out about Discarded and my other works (including paid ads, if need be, though the Equifax news has me even more on guard in that area). The decent response to the Obsidian & Steel promo says there's still an audience out there; it's just a question of being heard above the cacophony of other aspiring, newly-minted and established writers. The (restarted) agent hunt's narrowed my list of choices down even further, so I might have some professional help shouting my works' praises before too much more time passes. I'll keep you posted on this and all else that's coming down the pipe these next few months; as always, comment, critique and share at any time!
