Don't Be a Dick

By Anneli Roberts

A collection of short, sweary essays from a girl who wants you to be less of a dick

It's been a while since I've updated hasn't it! We've hit some exciting milestones in the meantime - who'd have thought we'd be 2/3 of the way to funding this book!

Thank you all for your faith in me, your patience and your support. Really honoured to have such an awesome bunch of people behind this project and I genuinely can't wait to get it out into the world!

The pandemic has given me a lot of time to write and rewrite (a lot of new dickery has come to light and I've had time to think about what matters to me and what I want to say in the book). As well as some comedic chapters, I have been learning about topics that matter to me and I'm going to be sharing some "further reading" suggestions throughout Don't be a Dick so you can really follow the same journey ❤️

Still, despite everything, the chapters that mean the most to me continue to be the ones that focus on self kindness and extending compassion towards YOU. How to show up and choose yourself, how to build self love and how that self love can benefit the rest of your life and your loved ones.

More than ever, I think it's important to put thought into how you treat yourself and those around you. With many ongoing systematic failures that are far beyond most of our circles of influence, let's look to how we can make positive change for the people we love.

I'm grateful that you have chosen to support "Don't be a Dick". I'm so thankful that you have all been so patient and understanding - that you continue to support this book at while crowdfunding is especially difficult. Despite my appreciation, I'm going to ask something else of all of you.

I would love to ask that you all take some time today to think about what you could do (for yourself or for someone else) to make life a little bit easier ❤️

Take care of yourself. You are important.

What a great message. I don't doubt that the world would be a much nicer place if many people started by treating themselves better. Can't wait for the book!
