Dead Writers in Rehab

By Paul Bassett Davies

The only thing worse than waking up with the hangover from hell is waking up with a hangover in hell

Congratulations, we're publishing a book! And it's all because of you.

Thank you.

My novel, Dead Writers in Rehab, is now fully funded. I'm so happy the book is going to come out, and I'm truly grateful to every one of you for helping to fund it, and for your support and encouragement. It means a huge amount to me.

And guess what? I don't want you stop.

People can still pledge, and get their name in the book, until it goes to the printer. Which will take a matter of months rather than weeks, (but also rather than years). Meanwhile, I'll soon be offering all of you who've already pledged some new rewards and free bonuses. Watch this space. Not all the time, obviously, or you'll hurt your eyes. But there will be some news about this shortly, and about some other developments that I hope to announce in a week or so. For now, let me just say again how much I appreciate what you've done. It feels wonderful to be in this position, thanks to you.

If all this sincerity is getting a bit much, my alter ego, @thewritertype, has written a typically cynical and jaundiced piece about crowdfunding. It's only to be expected of him. As my imaginary friend he had a traumatic upbringing. He bears deep emotional scars, to say nothing of the physical wounds inflicted on him in my childhod games, many of which featured him being repeatedly killed. No wonder he's embittered. But hey, it takes all sorts. Read 'The Hell Guide to Crowdfunding' here:

And again, thank you.

Well done. I thought a lot of your writing since I heard Digby Spode on the Beeb. That other book weren't bad either. Look forward to this one.

Thanks Rhian, and as for you, Andy, you know that anyone who references Sir Digby Spode and Brogue Male can do no wrong in my eyes.
