Crow Court February Update
It has been two months since we started crowd-funding Crow Court. We've already reached 14%, which is fantastic, and the level of support from everyone has been amazing. It is so impressive to experience such generosity.
There have been some large pledges that are remarkably generous and there have been pledges from people who are stretching their budget just to contribute. They are equally gratifying and encouraging. There have also been all sorts of offers of support, contacts, introductions and help passing on the word. It makes me determined to give this project everything. Thank you to everyone who has already contributed at every level.
Importantly, some of Crow Court's stories deal with suicide and its consequences, so it is fitting to use the novel as a platform to support my local mental health charity—I'll be highlighting the support Dorset Mind delivers in Dorset and the charity will receive a proportion of the royalties from Crow Court.
There is a lot to do now, pulling all sorts of strands from many different directions. I am also looking to start organising local publicity events focused on Wimborne and Dorset, and contacting local media and news outlets. So life is going to get even busier soon. There's also a whole internet of people who have never even heard of Crow Court, so I'm gearing myself up to start emailing and social media broadcasting like a veritable teenager. I'll let you know how it goes...
