Based off the YouTube series by Clisare, the Irish Bucket List tracks the first-person experience of 100 activities you never knew were possible to do in Ireland; from wrestling an alligator to having tea in Father Ted's house to taking part in a Guinness World Record, there's something for everyone just off the beaten track.
Hi, Clare here! Welcome to the YouTube series that never gave up on it's dream of becoming a travel book!
The Irish Bucket list series is something that has taken over the last few years of my life.
The idea was borne upon my return from a year living in Australia. While I was in Australia, not only was I quite homesick, but I realised towards the end that I’d spent an awful lot of money doing "touristy" things in Australia. When I thought about it, I realised I hadn’t really done any of those things at home in Ireland, and I vowed to do all of them when I got home. That idea became the ‘Irish Bucket List’.
What’s different about my 'Irish Bucket List' than all the other 'things to do in Ireland before you die' lists is that the Irish Bucket List focuses on “the coolest things to do”. This means that while the Blarney Stone and other Irish staples are, of course, mentioned, the series focuses on things that are less common and not as well known, like wrestling an alligator in Kilkenny, cable wakeboarding in Belfast or taking a segway tour of the Titanic building site! There are 50 episodes on YouTube as I write this and there are over 100 activities catalogued in this book. The best part is, for the activities that are online, people will not only be able to read my experience of them and see the pictures, but go online and experience them in video. In this way, this is a pretty unique travel book.
The book will also be available in audio and e-book formats. I am very excited to tell you *ALL* about the last 3+ years travelling around Ireland doing "all of the cool things there is to do!"
The Irish Bucket List is an ongoing adventure, and I’ll be continuing with my journey even after you’ve finished reading this book. Ireland is a treasure trove of experiences and I want to experience them all, even if it takes me my whole life! There’s a list of activities I have yet to do next at the end of this book - maybe I’ll see you on one of them!
It looks like Clisare has not made any updates yet. Check back soon!
