The first month.
To be honest, I had no idea how this Unbound adventure would work, or even if it would work. It's quite scary to think that you need three or four hundred people to support your book before it can be published and at times I wondered if I'd be able to get ten backers, let alone hundreds. Crowdfunding is completely new to me and in the first couple of weeks, there was very little activity. Then, about a week ago, I put a slightly desperate "please help" post up on Facebook and, much to my relief, it slowly started to take off. As of now, nearly 50 people have pledged to help, some of whom have been incredibly generous. Of course, there's a long way to go, but it's an encouraging start. As for the book, progress is good there, too. I can tell how happy I am with it by the number of times I read extracts to my wife, who doesn't always find them as funny as I do. I've done nearly 30,000 words so just short of halfway through. Unusually, I'm really enjoying writing this one (it helps that it's about my favourite subject, Bromley FC) and think it could be my best yet. So many thanks to those who have made pledges. You're helping to make this book happen and I'm genuinely grateful. And if you haven't made a pledge yet, this is probably the perfect time to do it.
