What's New and a Competition

Wednesday, 1 November 2017

Hi folks,

I have been shockingly bad at posting updates here and for that I apologise. I hope to do better in the coming weeks. Let me tell you a bit about what's been going on.

We have a completed draft manuscript of Borrowed which has been through one round of editing (by me) so far. I expect to do another round over the coming weeks but if we reached 100% funding today, I would have a manuscript ready to hand in to Unbound to start working with their editors. So this book is ready to go.

The delightful Paul Holbrook has written a bonus story for you. I have read the first draft and can honestly say it's fantastic! It's a long story so I'll be posting it in sections - the opening will be available for anyone to read but later sections will only be available to pledgers. The story will also be included in a special bonus material section of the anthology.

Which brings me to our competition. When funding reaches 50% I will hold a prize draw. All pledges will result in an entry to the draw. So, if you pledge twice, you get two entries. The prize is a special bonus story to be written by me, featuring you as a character (or another person of your choice) and written to your prompt. The only rule is that the story must be capable of being tied to the library.

I'd also like to remind you that all royalties after production costs will be donated to the World Literacy Foundation so your pledge will go towards supporting a very worthwhile cause for years to come. None of the authors are receiving any payment in relation to the work that they've done for this book.

If the anthology isn't for you, you can still support us by spreading the word. Tell your friends and family, tweet about it, post on facebook or whatever other social media you use. Please, help us to make this happen.

Take care,

Shona
