What a few weeks! 89%, and £264 raised in donations to hurricame relief
A crazy few weeks with the 'day job' (including the must-have IT issues when at most hectic, of course) but lovely silver linings have formed by hitting 89% funding, (including the backing of a writer I very much admire. Though of course, I madly love and admire every single person who has taken the trouble to back me. Heroes, every one of you. What's more the double your dough donations thing raised £264 (which I was very happy to magnify and pass on, in thanks for all the support I have received here) for various Caribbean relief funds, spent as follows:
£100 on Virgin Unite BVI / Irma fund (no fees)
£50 on Red Cross Irma fund (so some should also go to other hard-hit islands)
£40 to the initiative by chef Al Broderick who has been heroically feeding kids free hot lunches every day from a stall in Road Town BVI (via youcaring)
£50 to the BVI Animals of Irma Appeal (via gofundme)
£30 to an employee relief fund for a business that has been wiped out by the hurricane (with which a dear friend and supporter here also has connections)
Receipts available for all the above if needed - but thanks so much again.
And Cap'n Rikki - your poem will be delivered this weekend!
So nearly there folks... xxx
