Reality can be both sobering, and inspiring

I've recently been talking with organisations about pre-ordering bulk copies of this, my new book. It's shifted the pressure from hustling, to making a value based sales pitch. This sits far more comfortably with my personal values.

The fence is starting to creak, as more and more find themselves sitting on it. Instinct and common sense suggests that a box of books, together with me for a day, is a pretty good deal. But however enthusiastic people are, there almost always seems to be a finance person telling them to wait.

Yet when funded and produced, it will cost those organisations more to buy the books and have me speak. And isn't that the problem with so many publicly funded organisations? They seem to tie themselves up in ways that stifle anything slightly creative, however good the deal.

Of course this is one of the reasons I'm writing the book. To help those facing similar barriers over the hurdles that 'the system' places in their way. I know I'll find a pragmatic middle ground that will allow me get this book funded, written and out there changing lives. That after all is what matters most.

In addition to this book, I have another project facing a similar challenge. There, as well as here, I know I'll find the answer. Experience tells me that if you set out to do the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, the solution will appear - often from where you least expect it.

So it's over to you. Challenges are best overcome when shared amongst creative thinkers. That's you!
