Hello Barking Supporters & a very warm welcome to my recent pledgers!
Apologies for the recent radio silence, I’ve been busily working on an exciting commission and looking forward to telling you more about it soon. But today marks a landmark for BARKING as it has reached a 1/3rd funded!! There are now 134 of you lovely readers and I’m very grateful for all your support. I’m extremely proud and a little overwhelmed by your generosity and belief in a frank and open story on mental health. In just over a year it’s gone from a project that I bored everyone about and only my family actually saw to being well in it’s way to publication. Exciting stuff!
If you’re in the UK this Saturday 7th July is Small Press Day. A day when comic shops and retailers across the country highlight the work of independent and self published creators. There are events happening everywhere so please check out the S.P.D website and support your local creators. I will be at Dave’s Comics in Brighton alongside very talented creators and taking part in a live drawing mural. If you’re Brighton way or fancy a trip to the seaside please come and say hi. I’ll have plenty of my 1in4 Zines to sell and may even do you a sketch...
I’ll be back to work on BARKING from tomorrow and doing a wee rewrite before sketching chapter 5. I’ll be updating and posting to all my social media feeds and back here again soon. Until then I just wanted to say a massive thank you again for your support.
Be back soon, Lucy x
