Can You Help?
I'm writing to you today to ask for your help. As I mentioned in my last update, I spent the first half of this year putting together an anthology called Borrowed which is crowdfunding now.
Borrowed contains stories by eight different writers, each story connected to the library in the fictional Scottish town of Finlay. The stories share locations and characters but each is told in the unique voice and style of the writer.
We have a ghost story, a mystery, a comedy, a tragedy; there really is something for everyone. Slightly Foxed by Stevyn Colgan had me laughing out loud while Different Corner by Lou Allison had me in tears. Three times.
Perhaps the most important thing about this anthology is that the authors have all donated their work. All proceeds after publication will be donated to the World Literacy Foundation, an organisation that seeks to end illiteracy all over the world. You can find out more about what they do here: https://worldliteracyfoundation.org/what-we-do/
This is where you come in. As you know, Unbound crowdfund their books. For Borrowed to be published, we need to get enough pre-orders to cover the (very reasonable) publishing costs. Please, take a look at the project and consider supporting us. You can also help by telling other people about what we're doing here. Talk about it on your social media accounts, tell your friends and colleagues, help us spread the word.
P.S. I have started writing the second book in the Vessel of KalaDene series. Ashael is back!
