If you like it then you should put your name in it
Wednesday, 18 July 2018
Well hello there!
It's been a while. And that's because we've been doing the nitty gritty of this publishing lark; editing that text into shape, copy-editing it into perfection, designing a cover so all the pages don't fall apart. And do you know what? We're neary there. So nearly in fact that the fine folks at Unbound need to finalise the names that will appear in the back of the book.…

Oh, hello there. Remember me? I know it's been an age since you heard about the War Horse book but the good news is that stuff has been happening. First of all, the book's finished! I've been getting in touch with all of those who are named in the book to make sure that they're happy to be mentioned. Thankfully everyone has said yes. If you haven't heard from me then well done, you've avoided…
Dude, where's my book?
Thursday, 5 October 2017
This year marked the 20th anniversary of leaving my drama school, LAMDA. To mark the occasion we organised a boozy meet-up at the pub that used to be our local (now, of course, transformed into a sterile gastro pub-type affair). Was it just a full-on luvvie fest of hugs and smooches? Well, yes, eventually, but the evening began, as people slowly arrived with the repeated question, ‘WHERE’S MY…
The best thing about backing a book on Unbound
Thursday, 1 June 2017
If you’ve already backed a book on Unbound you will know what I’m about to say. If backing mine was your first then you will get to know it. If you’ve never pledged here then you need to read this whole thing because I’m basically trying to convince you. Heads up.
One of the greatest things about backing a book on Unbound is seeing your name in the back of the finished book.
I don’t say this…

Unbound Pledge Party!
Yes, that was an S-Club 7 reference.
No, I'm not ashamed.
Yes, that is worrying.
On Monday 22 May I will be taking part in the Unbound Pledge Party #2 at Gower Street Waterstones. This is basically a literary Dragon's Den where I, and seven other authors, will have 5 minutes to pitch our book to the assembled crowd and hopefully gain some…

I didn't mean to update you again so soon, and this will be very brief, but those of you who read the Sunday Times may have recognised a certain someone on page 3 of last weekend's edition. In a piece on Nicholas Hytner's memoir about life during his tenure at the National Theatre there was a gigantic picture of me jumping the wire, weapon raised, moustache stretched to its limit as…

I just got my calculator out and that’s basically a third of the way there.
In a month.
Give yourselves a round of applause. All 180 of you.
Now stop clapping, you’re going to confuse people around you.
Thank you, once again, all of you, it’s wonderful to have your support. One of the best things about this journey so far is that I’ve spoken to…
A big thank you and an even bigger announcement.
Saturday, 25 March 2017
I want to start by saying a huge thank you.
To those of you who have already pledged for the book (and there's over one hundred of you already) - you are clearly brilliant people. It means so much to have your support straight out of the gate and, if you haven't already, feel free to announce your philanthropy to the world. Let people know on the social media platform of your…
