mad-eyed dogs in ghost towns
Driving through the back roads of Northern Spain and into the central zone of rural France, you can see traces of times past and evidence of hard-earned earlier prosperity. A central square that once bustled with farmers with their livestock on market days now cannot support a rough and ready convenience store. The automation of farming was a wondrous thing, only it made people redundant - literally - in the country towns, ending an era of hardship but how does this compare to moving to the expensive cities and scraping by on menial jobs?
