Trivia connection: the punk bassist in the Slits really was Stanley Pollitt's daughter

Last weekend there was a bit of tweet activity on this theme. As somebody made the connection between one of the greatest girl bands in the punk era and Stanley Pollitt one of the fathers of account planning.  It seems there's a generation of punk fans who never knew.  Actually we had found out through this link where Tessa Pollitt talked about her career as a bass player for the Slits as well as working with many other musicians and gave a dedication to her father which you can see at the bottom of the post. We followed up the lead and obtained a filmed interview with Tessa and her sister Katy which you can watch here.

The interview is mostly talking about Stanley not the Slits but towards the end of the interview Tessa talks about the tensions between herself and Stanley who didn't like it at all. But couldn't avoid it as the Slits kept hitting tabloid headlines. Enjoy the interview I hope this demonstrates that 98% Pure Potato has really got some amazing material in it that you wouldn't have imagined. Keep tuned and we'll keep sharing the suprises. And keep sharing this content to anyone who might be interested. Come on -  there must be some people into punk planning who never realised how far back it went!
