70% and counting - things are happening!
Happy #friyay everyone, it’s finally here. And what a week it’s been!
The world is moving fast and slow at the moment, but for 100 Voices it has been an outstanding couple of weeks. Welcome to our amazing new supporters – there are now 366 of you and you have taken us over 70%. We’re under 20 copies from 75% funded. A huge milestone.
I’m not sure I would have believed it two weeks ago, but you did, and thanks to you we are rolling on nicely. So I wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you. Some of you have just discovered us, some have been with us for over 500 days (!) but each of you has taken a chance on our book of 100 women writers who, in turn, have donated us their words because we’re doing something that matters.
A lot has been happening. In case you missed it – this week I shared a video of me on a very windy day reading my piece from the book on IGTV, where you can also find our Live session from a few weeks ago with writer Emma Halliday and the brilliant poem by Lucy Thatcher Little Black Girl. And Tamara Von Werthern shared a special thank you message on Twitter to celebrate our big 7-0!
As July comes to a close, there’s definitely an end of term feeling, and I hope you all get a chance to take a break, raise a glass and celebrate yourselves as people who are working to make women’s stories count.
We are so grateful to you for backing us. We know we are going to make it, because this project is too special not to exist. Every one of the 100 stories is unique. Every one deserves to be shared far and wide. And ultimately, we hope that women and their stories will be seen in all their diversity.
We can do this! It might be Monday by the time this reaches you, but who cares, go have a dance/ drink/ sit down/ tech detox and big up yourselves.
A-ND there is just one week left to get 10% off, so if you have friends who might be interested we’d love to meet them! Just enter ALMOSTJULY10 at checkout. We also still have a few £15 copies – people can email email@example.com if they want one.
We’ll be in touch soon with details of our next supporter event, what we’re doing to attract business patrons (if you know any businesses who might be interested get in touch) and more news on our writers.
Cheers from all of us at 100 Voices!
